JOB & PERSON SPECIFICATION

Position: Industrial Refrigeration Engineer (Mobile)
Employment: Permanent (3month probationary period)*
Location: Oxford, Leeds, London, Bristol
Salary: 23,000GBP per annum (starting salary) rising to 30,000GBP
Benefits: Vehicle, Phone, Pension, Bonus, Private Health Care, Over Time, Uniform, On going training (detailed career progression) and Re-location package

* Please note this is a permanent position and NOT contract. We are asking that you relocate to the UK permanently to start a new career. We help in all aspects of the relocation. If you have any questions regarding this process please do not hesitate to contact us.

Main Duties:
The main function of your role is to provide planned and preventative maintenance to large refrigeration plant. This is a mobile role and will involve you driving to different locations to fault find, diagnose and repair Ammonia and Freon plant when necessary. You will also advise on upgrades and potential issues on site.

A wide range of systems are used (Ammonia, Freon, CO2) and compressors (Screw, Semi-Hermetic, Reciprocal, Scroll and Piston).

CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION

Background:
Suitable applicants must come from an Industrial or Marine Refrigeration background and have worked only as a refrigeration engineer.

Have a minimum of 5 years practical experience as a maintenance engineer on ammonia refrigeration plant.

Qualifications:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Marine Engineering
- Marine Refrigeration
- Specialist qualification in Refrigeration Mechanics
Thermodynamics
- Driving Licence (Essential)

Experience:
- Experience of using Plate Heat Exchangers for both condenser and evaporator with direct expansion ammonia, Duty range: 120kw - 2000kw

- Experience of using new refrigerants with enhanced surface heat transfer and high performance Screw compressors.

- Duty range:
890kw - 2500kw on R507
575kw - 1700kw on R134a

- Experience of a wide range of compressors: Screw, Semi-Hermetic, Reciprocal, Scroll and Piston compressors

- Experience of 1 and 2 stage compressors with intercooler

- Experience of diagnosing and fault finding on DX Plant

- Experience of diagnosing and fault finding on electrical systems and control panels

- Experience of designing ammonia refrigeration systems

- Experience with PLC and SCADA is advantageous.

- Planned inspection and maintenance
- Remote plant monitoring
- Emergency repairs
- Small equipment installations
- CFC refrigerant retrofitting
- Plate heat exchanger refurbishment
- AAF filters
