ANBROS MARITIME primary activities involve seaborne transportation of dry bulk and break bulk cargoes worldwide, carried out by its own managed fleet. ANBROS MARITIME industry-specific knowledge for over half a century guarantees competent and reliable support to all its customers and business associates. As a provider of services, its most valuable asset are the human resources, who, based in the offices, on board the vessels, or ashore are qualified to meet every challenge with technical expertise, outstanding commitment and dedication. ISM certified by ABS (American Bureau of Shipping) since 1997, the Company provides the highest safety and environmental standards. Specialized in almost all dry bulk sectors, from handy-size to panamax, ANBROS MARITIME has developed an international network with most of the major charterers by trading its own vessels either on a tramp basis or on long period time charters. A history of trading in the Great Lakes of Canada since the early 70 s further contributes to its ever-growing experience. In addition, ANBROS MARITIME is the Greek representative of "EGYPTIAN EUROPEAN MARITIME Co." of Alexandria (Egypt) and provides shipping agency services to vessels calling at Egyptian ports or transiting the Suez Canal. ANBROS MARITIME Chartering activities are undertaken by its affiliated Company, "SOLEMARE SHIPPING Co. S.A.". The Group was established in 1936 as a family enterprise in Sitia, a small port in the North-Eastern part of the Island of Crete in Greece, by the two brothers Georgios and Nikolaos Angelakis. Initially the Company, known as ANGELAKIS BROS , was involved in local and coastal trading mainly connected with veg-oils and agricultural products. Following the Second World War, the increased seaborne commerce in the Mediterranean region and the need for a more competent and professional way to serve their customers interests, combined with the diversification into Shipowning, forced them to move their principal business activities to Piraeus, the main Port of Greece. After a successful trading period with their first small freighters and motorships, the Company expanded in the 60 s and 70 s by acquiring and operating larger tween-deckers, multipurpose vessels and bulk carriers. In 1977 the Company took delivery of its first new building, a multipurpose vessel of 16.363 Dwt from Hashihama Shipbuilding Co. Ltd in Japan. John G. Angelakis, son of George, is at the helm of the Company and has been directing the commercial and shipping activities since the beginning of the 1980 s. After more than 6 decades in the ever intensified Shipping Environment, ANBROS MARITIME continues to meet the growing demands for safe and efficient ship operation and management. During these years ANBROS MARITIME has cultivated consistency and trust, honesty, diligence and expertise using modern administration methods and highly qualified personnel, while being always true to the fundamental values of its founders. Marching into the 21st Century, the third Generation, George and Katerina J. Angelakis, having completed their Masters degrees in London, joined the Company as the followers in a proud and prominent history and the forerunners of a promising future. About Our Company...
