With comprehensive benefits, BP aims to help you achieve a good work-life balance Rewards Benefits Rewards Salary and allowances Our highly competitive starting salary varies according to your experience and academic achievement, but from September 2006 will be 28,000 (more if you have a Masters or PhD). Your salary is reviewed twice a year, and any increases are based on your performance. Additional location allowances are paid, for those working in London or offshore, for example. In addition, all new employees on the graduate programme receive a tax-free lump sum (this is currently 2000 net) settling-in allowance. On the graduate programme you must be nationally mobile. A tax-free lump sum (currently 2000 net) relocation allowance is available each time you move, providing you meet the eligibility requirements. Bonuses Your salary reflects your ongoing contribution to the company. Short to medium term achievements are rewarded in the form of bonuses. Bonus plans are linked to team and individual performance and vary throughout the company, but may deliver payouts of up to 9% in your first year. In addition, BP operates a discretionary spot recognition award programme to recognise outstanding performance. Share schemes A range of schemes is available to enable you to purchase shares with highly favourable terms. Pension From the day you start at BP, you can join the company's non-contributory pension plan. back to top Benefits Flexible working hours At BP various types of flexible working are available, depending on the location and business unit you work in, and your role. Options may include: Compressed working week: increasing your daily hours over a two-week period, to have every second Friday off. Flexible working: varying your start and stop times Home working: doing a proportion of your work from home Holidays and leave You will have 25 days' holiday per year, in addition to Bank holidays. Further special paid leave is available if you're getting married or having a child. Career breaks Once you have established your career, extended unpaid leave is available at management discretion for a period of up to two years. Charity donations The Matched Giving Scheme is available to all employees who make donations to UK registered Charities. Employees can apply for BP to match the amount donated, within certain limits. The interviewer will be from the discipline to which you applied. Who can apply for a graduate or intern opportunity? Graduate opportunities are only open to final-year students or people who have already graduated with less than three years' relevant work experience and who have achieved at least 2:1 degree from a UK university or above 60% average from a non-UK university. Penultimate could include between a first and second degree if the second degree is a one year programme. What is the Graduate Programme? BP's Graduate Early Experience Programmes are designed to give you a broad knowledge and to help you develop your competencies.
