The scope of work includes movement of the product from the casthouse, consolidation, storage and delivery to vessel. Stock management and export documentation requirements are handled by Strang's proprietary IT systems. Strang's patented ingot lifting table, Portland, Victoria Strang International provides an all-encompassing logistics operation around Australia for major mining companies based upon a 24 hour dedicated support system to handle both outgoing and incoming vessels and cargo. This system is critical to providing a continuous operation at clients' mine sites. Services provided include receiving, consolidation, warehousing, transport and dispatch, as well as ship's agency and stevedoring services. These services are underpinned by an in-house system the Strang Global Logistics Management System, designed in-house to receive, track, load and create export and customs documentation. Stevedoring cargo in Townsville, Queensland Strang Rennies Mozambique Consortium (SRMC), Mozambique Strang Rennies Mozambique Consortium (SRMC) was awarded the contract to operate an integrated export logistics package for Mozal Aluminium at the Matola Terminal in Mozambique. SRMC presently operates the integrated logistics chain for 250,00 tonnes of finished aluminium per annum. This tonnage will double to 500,000 tonnes per annum with the completion of the second stage of Mozal. The Matola Terminal, Mozambique Strang Rennies Metal Terminals (Pty) Ltd (SRMT), South Africa The Strang Group operates a major export stockyard in Richards Bay, South Africa, handling over 500,000 tonnes of finished aluminium per annum with an average of 25 shipments completed each month at the purpose-built stockyard. The Strang Rennies Metal Handling Facility, Richards Bay, South Africa -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lihir Gold Mine, Papua New Guinea Strang International was appointed to manage all logistics and stevedoring requirements for the construction and production phases of the Lihir Gold Mine in Papua New Guinea through a joint venture with local landowners. Strang coordinates the unloading of all cargo arriving on the island, including containers, steel, machinery, handling & construction equipment, vehicles and heavy lifts of up to 400 metric tonne per item. All cargo is handled over a landing barge facility and a general berth. Our joint venture functions encompass all stevedoring and port functions for both inward and outward cargo, distribution from import areas to final destination, warehouse manning, repair and maintenance of all client supplied equipment including trucks, cranes and forklifts and manning of all materials handling equipment. Gladstone Aluminium Smelter, Australia Provision of total package services for the single movement of 30,000 freight tonnes of refractory material for the Gladstone Aluminium Smelter in Queensland. Kennecott Explorations (Aust) Ltd Strang International was commissioned to conduct a logistical study into the development and operation of a gold mining project on Lihir Island, Papua New Guinea. The objective was to define a framework for the management of materials and people. PT International Nickel Indonesia Port of Malili Sulawesi Development. Included all transportation during the construction phase. Transportation effected from commencement of smelter. Approximate tonnage: 350,000 freight tonnes Arnott's Biscuits, Australia Arnott's appointed Strang International to handle the freighting, import, customs clearance and delivery of machinery ex works to their new $200 million factory in Huntingwood, Sydney. Operating Example Drilling Rig to Mongolia Strang International are agents for Polet Cargo Airlines in Australia and New Zealand. Polet own and operate a fleet of Antonov AN-124-100 aircraft. A recent project completed was the airlift of a full drilling rig from Darwin, Australia to Mongolia. As FG Strang Stevedoring, and later as Strang Patrick Stevedoring, the Group has successfully operated bulk, breakbulk and container terminals in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Papua New Guinea In 1994 the Strang-Tradex Group exited Strang Patrick Stevedoring but retained the logistics operation of Strang International (formerly Tradex Transport). Strang International continues its logistics services, including stevedoring and port management and is the main operating arm of the Strang-Tradex Group. Port of Long Beach, California, USA The Strang-Tradex Group has been the exclusive overseas representative of the Port of Long Beach in Australia and New Zealand since 1975. The Port of Long Beach is the largest container port in the United States of America and is the key gateway to the Pacific region. The Port's operations comprise a mix of container and bulk operations and incorporate the most sophisticated land transport linkages to a port in the world. This relationship has also been significant in the two-way transfer of port management expertise between the parties. Port of Portland, Victoria, Australia John Strang, Chairman of the Strang-Tradex Group, served for two years as Chairman of the Port of Portland. Portland is located on the south west coast of Victoria. John Strang was appointed to oversee the substantial reform of the Port, including the implementation of a cost reduction program and new initiatives to achieve economic efficiency.
