A refrigerated factory barge (Commander) for processing and freezing of prawns and Octopus off the coast of Mafia Island, Tanzania. Two deep-sea Tuna long-lining vessels. A logistics vessel for movement of export cargo from the Commander and land based processing facility (both in Mafia Island) to Dar Es Salaam. Three oil transporting vessels for providing Bunkers to the Groups vessels as well as other vessels calling into the Port of Mombasa. The product range includes Black Tiger and Banana Prawns, Octopus, Lobsters, Squid and Crabs. A large new onshore processing factory also recently begun operation on Mafia Island, adding to the output and capability of Marine operations. This factory will process wild caught products as well as aquaculture products. Alpha Group is extending its presence downstream by venturing in a pioneering aquaculture project for Black Tiger prawn farming in Tanzania. Alpha Group is currently assessing possibilities of sustainable exploitation of Marine fish products like Red Snapper, Perches, Reef Cod and King Fish.
