History Newsletter Employment Industry Links Port Agents Profile -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- One of the Ten Largest The MTM Group is engaged in the worldwide transportation of bulk liquid chemicals, edible oils, acids, and petroleum products, and can be counted amongst the ten largest chemical tanker operators in the world. The fleet under management consists of approximately 20 vessels totaling more than 400,000 deadweight tonnes capacity, with an annual volume carried of about two and half million tons. Trading Globally The MTM Group s vessels trade in all parts of the globe, serving a broad range of clients internationally - oil majors, chemical majors, government agencies and trading houses. The company provides its commercial service through long-term contracts of affreightment (COA's) in combination with spot fixtures in several key parcel tanker trading areas, including trans- Pacific, Middle East Gulf - east and west, US Gulf - east, South East Asia - Europe/Med, and trans-Atlantic. Some of MTM's larger customers have included British Petroleum, Union Carbide, Shell, Equate, Cargill, Archer Daniels Midland, Mitsui, Mitsubishi, Wilmar, and Kuok Oil Group. Modernizing and Expanding In order to meet the needs of its customers and the rising quality standards of the industry, MTM is continuing to modernize and expand its fleet through the addition of fully-stainless steel tankers in the 19,300 - 25,000 Dwt size range, and the deletion of older and smaller coated tonnage. In addition, MTM is able to charter-in tonnage from other owners to meet specific trading needs. As part of its ongoing strategy, MTM will continue to focus on niche chemical and other parcel tanker business that requires high quality ships and a thorough understanding of the logistical needs of its customers.
