A key strength is the diversity of capabilities, equipment and skilled people it can deploy for virtually any repair, overhaul or maintenance project on or off-site. Field crews are equipped to go anywhere, anytime, backed by strong field and project management teams and Peacock s 100% guarantee. In 2002, the division was renamed ENGINEERING SERVICES to reinforce the technical specialization and engineering expertise fundamental to its core competencies. Service Support Close to Market The backbone of its business is a national network of fully equipped engineering service centres strategically located in six key markets. British Columbia: Fort St. John Alberta: Edmonton, Calgary, Fort McMurray Ontario: Toronto Quebec / Atlantic Canada: Montreal This infrastructure, the only one in Canada, brings local, on the ground support to customers in virtually all primary and secondary industries. Four centres are ISO registered. One location is certified to CSA Z299.3 to support pump and valve repair contracts in the nuclear industry. Collectively, there is a total of 245,000 sq.ft. of modern machining facilities with equipment ranging from small precision lathes to massive boring mills. Each centre is a one-stop facility with skilled resources to repair, rebuild and upgrade critical rotating machinery from a simple bearing replacement to overhaul of heavy, complex pumps. In addition to this extensive network, Engineering Services can draw on the global technical resources of The Weir Group to support in-house or on-site projects. Single contact, single source for precise, quality repairs, rebuilds, upgrades and maintenance Total Service Capability From re-engineering to compressor repair, on or off-site Highly skilled, trained people 24 hour service, 7 days a week Proactive preventative maintenance Field Services Scheduled overhaul or emergency repair Major Industries Served Onshore and offshore oil and gas Power generation/co-generation Manufacturing Pulp & Paper Aggregate Mineral Processing Water/Wastewater Marine Calibration & Certification Peacock Process Equipment maintains the critical traceable standards necessary to perform accurate measurements and calibration standards to meet the expectations of the process industries it serves. Equipment Configuration In todays world of Microprocessor based instrumentation, programming or configuration set up is required to initialize the equipment. To assist our customers in this task and reduce the pre-commissioning phases, our qualified technicians will complete the necessary work to suit a particular need. Commissioning & Start Up Assistance Peacock Instrumentation's highly competent trained technicians are available for on-site commissioning and start up assistance for the products that it sells, and also a large selection of other manufacture's products. Our technicians are also conversant with a good understanding of product applications and process knowledge. Calibration & Repair All our facilities offer this service which includes all products that it sells as well as a large selection of other manufacture's products of the same type and function. The overall service commitment from the Peacock organization is further enhanced with the additional capabilities from it's Marsh Instrumentation organization, a Division of Peacock. Marsh Instrumentation is ISO 9001:1994 Registrated and operates out of facilities in Burlington, Ontario. Presently the division employs over 25 technical staff including Engineers, Technologists and Technicians. Providing technical manpower and in-house support to a wide range of industries supporting construction, upgrades and maintenance. Since the it's early beginnings, Marsh Instrumentation has acquired solid experience in the design and implementation of Instrumentation and Electrical Control Systems including Design and Build, Installation, Calibration, Electronic repair, Commissioning and Start-up. Specializing in helping companies with their technical needs through augmenting customer manpower or full turn-key solutions. Marine Engineering Tradition 2003 marks 50 years of Marine Engineering servicing customers in the Canadian Navy as well as companies in the maritime community. The division tests and evaluates machinery and equipment according to manufacturer s design to ensure optimum performance is being achieved. Multi-disciplinary teams can assist customers in identifying fixed asset original specifications and defining a cost efficient test protocol to ensure they are being met. Marine Test and Evaluation Roots By its very name, Marine Engineering s core expertise has focused on marine vessel performance. It evaluates the full gambit of a ship s equipment, systems, and computer software in arriving at a professional and objective assessment of its capability. The division has evolved with advances in engineering technology to the point that it was instrumental in advising the Canadian Navy and Coast Guard on Y2K state of readiness and action plan. Highly Disciplined and Educated Workforce Marine Engineering employees are highly motivated and well trained. Increased service demand has seen continual and steady hiring in recent years, from 80 in June 2000 to currently over 120. Personnel have extensive and varied backgrounds in electrical and mechanical engineering, computer science, physical sciences, and a full range of technical disciplines. They possess keen project management skills and ensure each and every work detail is accounted for regardless of whether the job is estimated at $10,000 over 2 months or $500,000 over two years. Based Canada Wide Marine Engineering s presence is well established across Canada with professional staff located in Halifax, Montreal, Ottawa, and Victoria, British Columbia. The Montreal facility includes a modern plant with equipment to test a wide range of industrial production machinery. The capability is there to move test gear to job sites in other locations along with the right team of specialists. ISO Certified The organization is ISO 9001 and 14001 certified which lends to the credibility of its prowess in providing engineering answers including situations where environmental protection factors prominently in the equation. Flexibility Asset performance extends beyond marine oriented equipment and the division reacts with flexibility in meeting new challenges. It reconfigured, for example, a marine diesel test cell to meet a customer s need for gauging performance of overhauled aviation engines. Wide Engineering Solution Applicability Along with its proven skills in supporting the maritime industry, Marine Engineering is pleased to service customers in the following industrial sectors: Nuclear power generation Oil and gas Hydroelectric Pulp and paper Mining Petro-chemical Marine Engineering can provide a wide range of solid engineering oriented solutions to problems in the market place. For example: Performance Testing Marine Engineering can test pumps, gas turbines, diesel engines, and electric motors. It can even design a tailored made test plan to accommodate a customer's needs. Environmental Protection Marine Engineering can test and evaluate environmental protection equipment to ensure it meets government and industry regulations according to specific jurisdictions. Dynamic and Climatic Testing Marine Engineering can simulate adverse parameters and test equipment expected to perform under such conditions. These parameters include shock, vibration, inclination, temperature, humidity, fog and rain. Computer Systems Marine Engineering can provide extensive computer system support services ranging from requirements analysis to system and software testing to software development. Asset Management Marine Engineering can conduct maintenance routines on plant infrastructure and equipment where and when customers decide outsourcing these commitments is more cost effective than retaining and overseeing a plant work force Weir Services-Peacock is Canada's leading source of high performance engineered industrial, instrumentation and process control products, world.......
