Manufacturing Osborne Propellers manufactures propellers using job molding, not machine molding. This means every job is a custom job; there is no "assembly line" production. Each propeller is custom-designed for a specific application. First, a pattern is selected or manufactured to meet the design requirements. The pattern is then inspected and verified before being sent to the foundry where skilled foundry workers construct a mold using sand. The sand mold is then used to develop the propeller casting. The propeller is then machined, ground, pitched, buffed, balanced, polished and inspected by qualified and highly experienced tradesmen. A rigorous quality control program is maintained to ensure each propeller meets specification. Osborne Propellers routinely manufactures to ISO Class 1 standards. Types Of Propellers * Special Internet Offer- Receive 10% off all new orders on Osborne Propellers * Sailer Propellers: Sailer propellers are based on a traditional design incorporating rake. Used mainly on sailboats, they provide enough blade area to maximize propeller effort but minimize drag. Skewed Propellers: Osborne also produces skewed designs, which can decrease vibration Surface Piercing Propellers: Generally used on high speed vessels in conjunction with arneson drives, these propellers break the surface of the water. Service Osborne Propellers remains true to its roots in the service and repair of propellers. Osborne's modern repair facilities can repair and modify all types of propellers (including controllable pitch blades), impellers and some fans. From reconditioning to changing the pitch, Osborne maintains the same high standards that make it the designated west coast propeller repair facility for the Canadian navy. Osborne's design and manufacturing processes are often improved by what the company learns from its experience repairing propellers. In this way repair services complement manufacturing services, which gives customers the best of what has been learned through the years. Osborne's modern repair facilities can repair and modify all types of propellers (including controllable pitch blades), impellers and some fans. Osborne Propellers Ltd.
