Danoff USA Limited is in our 25th year as shipbrokers in Miami, specializing in the timecharter and sale and purchase of roll-on/ roll-off, container, bulker and tweendecker vessels. We service North, South, Central American and Caribbean clients including several governments. We are located in Miami, Florida - the "gateway" to Latin America and the Caribbean. Our modern offices are conveniently situated about ten minutes from the Port of Miami and the Miami International Airport. Stuart S. Danoff, our founding chairman (deceased 2001) had 25 years prior shipping experience in New York in liner ownership/operations and shipbrokerage. Our president, Michelle D. Merlin, has been with the Company since its inception concentrating on the ro/ro and container markets. Our experienced brokers have a solid and stable background, each having worked for S. Danoff USA Limited no less than ten years. We are not 'cable brokers' - all of our tonnage comes either from owners directly or from their exclusive/direct representatives. We only work with direct charterers and thereby establish the shortest brokerage channel possible, i.e. maximum one broker for owners and one for charterers. This is the most cost effective way to charter tonnage in or out. The same principles hold true on our sale and purchase side, where every transaction involves either a direct buyer or a direct seller. BROKERS' RESUMES PRESIDENT - MICHELLE DANOFF MERLIN Michelle Danoff Merlin, 24 years experience in shipbrokerage specializing in the chartering and Sale & Purchase of Roll-on/ Roll-off vessels, as well as the chartering of container and tweendecker vessels. She has extensive background working with major liner operators in North and South America, Central America and the Caribbean. Ms. Merlin received her B.A. degree in International Studies from the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland and her M.A. degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies in Washington, DC in International Studies with a concentration on International Economics and International Law. CHARTERING - MELISSA STASA LOBREE Melissa Stasa Lobree, with SDUSA 14 years, concentrates on Roll-on/ Roll-off, container, tweendecker and small bulk vessels. She joined the company after graduating from the University of Miami with a degree in Marine Affairs. Ms. Lobree received a Certificate of Achievement from the Association of Ship Brokers & Agents (USA) Inc., New York. Thereafter, she completed the three-year accreditation course of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, based in London, earning her M.I.C.S. degree in 1997. SALE & PURCHASE - KAREN WEBB Karen Webb joined SDUSA 15 years ago in the Sale & Purchase department. The activities of this department include buying and selling any type of ocean-going vessels including container ships and bulk vessels, tankers and tweendeckers, tugboats and passenger ferries. Contracting of newbuilding tonnage is a key component of this department with orders placed in Europe and the Far East for tugs and container vessels. Ms. Webb's prior work experience was in marketing for the recording industry and kitchen and office equipment firms. She received a Certificate of Achievement from the Association of Ship Brokers & Agents (USA) Inc., New York. ADMINISTRATION - ANA CASTILLO Ana Castillo has been the office manager for SDUSA for the past 16 years, with a background in business administration. Her duties include all administrative functions of the office as well as post- fixture correspondence.
