Our History, Achievements and Plans Dear Readers, TRANS-SAD company was established in 1992. From the very beginning its founders had a very clear goal in mind - to create a company that would offer to its customers much more than forwarding services. The company values were based on the values which were very close to its founders, namely, reliability, professionalism and cooperation. They wanted their company to provide satisfaction and feeling of security to the customers, company that would win and then keep their trust. Sticking to these principal assumptions in practice, accompanied by careful choice of co-workers very soon bore fruit in a form of the well functioning team, able to meet even the most demanding customers' needs. All this contributed to the smashing success of the company. At the outset, the company concentrated its efforts on railway forwarding and agency services. Soon, the leading companies from chemical and petrochemical branches of industry have become our key customers. As the volume of transported goods increased we spread the network of our agencies as well as broadened the range of services which were offered by their means. Continuous company development and growing range of services, like introduction of forwarding and transportation by means of motor vehicles, led to changing our headquarters location. After takeover of a local transportation company in 1997, the company was moved to a new seat, at 2 L. Heyki Street, where currently, beside the headquarters, one can find the Forwarding Department and the parking space for our fleet of motor vehicles. The tangible evidence of our professionalism and our customers' confidence is granting us, on two occasions, the title of the "Reliable Partner" by the Honourable Board of Promotional Program, consisting of representatives of the Business Foundation, the Domestic Chamber of Commerce and the Minister of Finances. The effects of our work and numerous cases of customer satisfaction proved to be an incentive to even harder efforts and raising our services to higher levels. As of March 1, 1999 we finished the first stage of the planned for the next couple of years organization transformations, becoming a commercial company. Currently, since attracting first customers and occurrence on the local market we have been active in business for over nine years. Over this time period we have changed a lot, becoming a company active all over the country. We have a network of over forty branch offices located both inside the country and on its borders. We employ over two hundred people, most of whom are highly qualified professionals: customs brokers and forwarding agents. We have developed our activity in all market segments of forwarding business. Today we not only specialise in shipment of bulk cargo by means of railway; but also in organizing handling of goods (reloading; forwarding services (in a broad meaning of the word) by railway, sea and road; as well as organizing shipments of unusual, dangerous chemical materials. The unquestionable reason for pride of each TRANS-SAD employee is the fact that most customers who once put their trust on the unknown, at that time, and young company, still cooperate with us. Company's Future Continuous improvement, both as our operations and strategy are concerned, is an indispensable condition which TRANS-SAD must fulfil if it wants to provide growing satisfaction and feeling of security to customers who use company's services. This is also the only way to win and then keep their trust. Adapting to growing demands of market offers us an opportunity to provide services of higher and higher quality. The expertise of our employees and company strong standing on the Polish transportation market belong to unquestionable advantages of TRANS-SAD. As regards the future, the company will now concentrate on certification activities related to the quality standard of ISO 9001/2000. We are convinced that the implemented changes will allow us to provide even better service to customers and satisfy their requirements to even fuller extent. Although we are constantly concerned about our customers and the future of our company and we plan and make numerous investments, we never forget about the past. One thing will never change in our company. It is our corporate philosophy which was stated by the founders of TRANS-SAD. Every individual employee of the company is its strong supporter. That is why, with full responsibility, we state today that: TRANS-SAD IS THE BEST CHOICE. REST ASSURED, WITH US YOUR GOODS WILL REACH THEIR DESTINATION ON TIME. Sea transport Forwarding activity at harbours was a natural development stemming from rail freight. TRANS-SAD included this service in its offer at the end of the first year of its activity. This decision proved to be "hitting the jackpot", what is best demonstrated by a number of vessels we have serviced in ports so far and related to it volume of goods. The first vessel was serviced by us in Szczecin in 1993. Currently we offer our services also in Swinoujscie, Gdansk and Gdynia. Our shipping agents perform the whole range of activities related to sea transport and harbour forwarding service. We specialise in organization of transhipment of liquid fuel and chemical products. Organizing transport by means of container-ships is the newest initiative of TRANS-SAD related to this area of activity. Customs agency Since the very beginning of our business activity we have tried to provide complex range of services to our customers. That is why, in 1992, we obtained formal agreement to run a customs agency. Within the range of its services - related to all formalities which are necessary according to Polish customs regulations - among other things, we offer: - preparation of all documentation for customs clearance, - making customs declarations, - securing (hedging against) due customs and tax payments. In order to take advantage of these services, customers may contact our branch offices which are located near major train lines, road routs, as well as sea-lanes. We offer complex range of legal services related to customs, tax and any other regulations which may be used in foreign trade. As evidence of their trust many of our customers entitled us to represent them in Customs Offices. The newest initiative of TRANS-SAD is diversifying into services typical for logistics, such as running bonded warehouses and introduction of complex services with use of simplified business procedures. Shipment by freight trains Offering complex services within the range of shipment of bulk cargo by freight trains has been a top priority since company's beginning. So, as if in a natural way, TRANS-SAD met the challenge of the developing fuel industry. Years of hard work led to gaining of the considerable segment of this transport market. By constant adjustment to the requirements of the whole market we could also gain considerable share of its other parts. Currently, we deal in shipment of wood, containers, chemical products, and many other goods. Additionally, on the eastern border, in cooperation with our subcontractors we offer reloading services for each kind of goods. In order to satisfy our customers' needs, we set up our own terminal for reloading liquefied gas in Zawadowka. In respect of forwarding services by means of freight trains we offer the following: - organizing railway shipments on the basis of individual contracts, - preparation of consignment notes (waybills) for specified routs, - preparing detailed forwarding instructions, - crediting rail freights and additional payments, - providing financial guarantees for rail transport for our customers, - professional customs services on border checkpoints, - comprehensive consulting on binding regulations of the domestic and international transport law, - secondary control of settlements between railway services and our customers in respect of shipment services. The newest achievement of TRANS-SAD is closing the stage of prototype preparation and starting production phase of railway cars (in cooperation with TRANS-TECH and other companies of this industry branch) that enable automatic change of the axle width. Thus, expensive and troublesome reloading operations on the eastern border will be avoided. The designed by our team project facilitates service activities, cuts down the time and reduces the cost of commodity exchange services. We hope that our invention will become an important link of the logistics chain which connects Western and Eastern Europe. Thanks to TRANS-SAD our customers will be able to reach their destination without any obstacles. At the outset, the company concentrated its efforts on railway forwarding and agency services.
