The Peene-Werft, Wolgast is the main shipyard within the yards of the HEGEMANN GROUP. Since foundation of the yard more than 50 years ago the Peene-Werft is well known as high-quality shipyard. This is based on the experience of building of more than 650 ships and the conversion and repair of a multitude of vessels. After the privatisation in 1992 one of the most modern shipyards in Europe was created. Since 1995 the Yard is certified according to the Quality Management System DIN EN ISO 9001 issued by Germanischer Lloyd. This certification is the confirmation of achieved standard and at the same time demand for the future. The Peene-Werft GmbH is able to design and to build a large variety of ships according to the demands of the market as vessels for the Merchant Fleet, Fishery and vessels for Authorities and the Navy. The essential production facilities of this shipyard are mainly characterised by: CAD/CAM controlled cutting-, welding- and assembly equipment for an effective steel fabrication Assembling of modules at a modern production line with heatable fabrication halls and a building dock for vessels up to 170 m length and 27,5 m width A special second production line for Navy-, Authority- and Fishing vessels with a heatable shipbuilding hall and a Syncro-Lift for ships of up to 110 m length and up to 15 m width. Throughout its more than 50 years of existence the Peene-Werft GmbH - since 1992 a member of the Hegemann Group - has built more than 650 new ships thereof 257 naval vessel respectively repaired or refitted a multitude of vessels which have fully complied with the clients' requirements and which have proved their quality under quite different conditions of operation. Closely connected with the take over by the notable businessman Detlef Hegemann was a fundamental modernization and reconstruction of the shipyard. As a result of the modernization the Peene-Werft increased the efficiency substantially and is capable to design, to build and to deliver a great variety of ships essentially with high technical standard such as container vessels, RoLo ships, gas/chemical tankers, naval vessels, research vessels, vessels for special services, dredgers and other floating equipment. The shipyard has the following central elements modern welding, cutting and transport devices a first shipbuilding production line with a heatable shipbuilding hall of 110 m length and 34 m width for the fabrication and pre outfitting of block modules another heatable shipbuilding hall of 90 m length and 30 m width for the fabrication, preoutfitting and conservation of block modules a dry dock with the dimensions 172 m length clear and 30 m width for the assembly of the block modules to a ship a second shipbuilding production line with a modern heatable shipbuilding hall of 175 m length and 14,6 m width ship lift for ships up to 110 m length, 15 m width, capacity 2400 t a third shipbuilding production line is the naval line with a modern heatable shipbuilding hall of 70 m (extension up to 125 m possible) in length, a width of 30 m and a height of 46 m a modern workshop building for the storage, treatment and machining of non-magnetic steel The highly qualified and experienced workforce enable the shipyard to deliver ships on schedule and at a high quality.
