Crew Management Our aim is to provide a quality service where our customers have total confidence in our ability to manage the human resources that we are responsible for on their behalf, leaving them the freedom to concentrate on the other aspects of ship operation, management and ownership. Delta offers various crew management packages. Each is made up specifically to our customers' needs. We can, for example, supply Junior Officers and Ratings leaving Senior Officers to be managed under our customers' direct control, or we can take full responsibility for the entire crew. In all cases, we work very closely with you maintaining close contact so that a solid relationship is built up. Some ships are crewed entirely with British Officers but our principal crew management combination is British Officers supported by Junior Officers and Ratings from the Philippines. We also recruit and employ Officers from Croatia, Poland and India, but many different combinations can be put together based on our customers specific requirements. To achieve this, we have our own office in the Philippines, Meco Manning & Crewing Services Inc, and agents appointed to handle our affairs in Croatia, Poland and India. Having secured the ability to recruit quality crews from these regions, we have the flexibility to tailor crew management packages in accordance with our customers' needs, rather than 'off the shelf' packages. Our crew management activities are directed by our Managing Director Ian Sherwood who is supported by Lynn Meek, Paul Sherwood and the rest of the Delta team. Training Delta Marine manage a number of training schemes for our customers at all levels from cadetships to higher certificates and other specialised qualifications. We believe strongly that training to provide a supply of qualified seafarers for the future represents one of the most important challenges for the ship management industry and in particular for crew managers. We work very closely with our crew management customers not only in upgrading the quality of our seafarers, but also in our commitment to cadet training schemes. Cadets represent the seed corn for the future and without adequate numbers of cadet officers coming through, the industry faces very difficult times in the years to come. It is for this reason, we stress the importance of increasing the skills profile of the industry. Delta Marine Personnel Services Ltd
