An Introduction to LinC Freight Management LinC Freight management was founded 16 years ago and is one of the few forwarders in the UK specializing in cross- trade services. The freight price is cheaper than on a direct master airway bill, meaning that flight details can be given quickly. Can be used for both import and export shipments. Direct category For those urgent shipments which require their own separate set of documents and need to be sent by airfreight on the next available flight to its destination which increases the cost. Express category A time significant product and is best suited for very urgent shipments. The freight is dispatched on the first available flight and the normal handling and clearance procedures are affected rapidly. As this category attracts premium levels of rates and service it is normally reserved for time sensitive shipments although anything can be dispatched. Door-to-Door category Consignments are sent by airfreight to our overseas partner to effect local clearance and delivery with charges being paid for by the shipper. Depending on the terms of the shipment there are several variations on these type of shipments. Courier category Normally for documents, small parcels etc. and is on an express door to door basis. It can include, when required, an on board courier where the freight is accompanied by a member of staff through to destination and into the hands of the consignee. All of the available airfreight services are offered to and from all airports where there is a recognised Customs facility to effect clearances. Sea Freight LCL category This is by far the most popular and cost effective way to effect a freight movement where there is not enough cargo for the shipper's needs to warrant paying for a 20ft container. Space being sold at the applicable weight / measure price to and from the major ports throughout the world, this is effectively a groupage service. FCL category If there is sufficient cargo to make either a 20ft or 40ft container cost effective then the service is sold at a container rate. The shipper paying an agreed price for the container and it is upto them as to how much cargo is placed inside the container, the more tonnage placed inside the container the lower the unit price cost. Road Freight In addition to our UK haulage knowledge we can offer our clients an extensive network of European road haulage covering all of Europe and including the CIS. Varying types of services, dependent on your requirements, from a next day, 2 day and 3 day transit time groupage service. Large, outsize loads or any requiring special handling can be effected. Unusual Consignments Livestock has proved no problems to us, as in the past we have shipped live Ostriches from Ireland to Estonia and Bengal Tigers from Madrid Zoo to Woburn Zoo.
