SPECIFICS OF THE COLLECTIONS: The library houses the only collection in Poland dedicated to sea fisheries research. Over the course of many years, a rich collection has been amassed of publications from international publishers and fishing conventions, including those of the FAO, ICES, NEAFC, NAFO, CCAMLR, the International Baltic Sea Fishery Commission - IBSFC (Miedzynarodowa Komisja Morza Baltyckiego, MKRMB), atlases, encyclopedias, dictionaries, keys for identifying fish and living sea organisms and the Polish Bibliography of Sea Fisheries (Polska Bibliografia Rybolowstwa Morskiego) from 1945 to 1991. SIZES OF THE COLLECTIONS: BOOK - 11 012 vol. PERIODICALS - 13 611 vol. Traditional Library Catalogues alphabetical card catalogue of books by author - title, alphabetical card catalog of periodical titles, FAO publication card catalogue by title, card catalogue of books by topic. The computerized catalogue was created with the MICRO CDS ISIS package BOOKS - data base contains 2 544 records. It is the Polish coordinator of the international information system ASFISIS FAO/CSA and in this capacity prepares Polish input data and is an active member of the European Association of Marine Libraries (EURASLIC).
