Since then the port has been developed to make up the Eastern Harbour Area of the Port of Marseilles - the Western Harbour area being the complex of Port de Bouc-Lavera-Fos-Port Saint Louis ports. Ten specialized terminals enable Marseilles to respond to all shipping requirements and to the following in particular: passengers, fruit and vegetables, freight for Corsica, bulk (agrofoodstuffs) used mainly for the industry in Marseilles, containers and Mediterranean regular lines. The mere fact that Marseilles is a cross roads for shipping lines and overland transport networks mean that it can offer industry and producers worldwide the commercial capacity they need for conquering the European and Mediterranean markets.
