The Port is situated on the ice-free Golden Horn Bay coast at 43 07' N and 131 53' E The Commercial Port zone ship traffic is monitored by the Vladivostok Sea Traffic Management System's Radiolocation Centre. The Port has 17 berths available with a total length of 4 200m alongside. Two of them are capable of taking cruise passenger ships. The operating modern container terminal provides the prompt delivery of cargoes to the north-east region of Russia, the SEA countries and US West Coast. Different kinds of cargo are handled at the other berths. The Port is specialized in handling general cargoes, including containers, bulk cargo, as well as lumber ones. Since there is no grain elevator in the port, grain and other bulk cargoes are handled directly from aboard the ship to the rail cars. The cargoes mostly arrive in and leave the Commercial Port of Vladivostok by railway. Ideal geographical location of the Port promotes money saving required for cargo transporting by railway. The rail rates are cheaper for the port of Vladivostok as compared with the adjacent ports. Convenient geographical location, comparatively developed infrastructure, favourable natural conditions predetermine competitiveness of the port of Vladivostok concerning transit cargoes from China. The port develops and maintains sister ports relations with Tacoma (USA), Niigata, Fushiki (Japan) and Dalian (China). Barwil Vostok - Vladivostok (Russia)
