The Port of Sodertalje awarded certification according to AFS 2001:1 The Port of Sodertalje was awarded certification according to AFS 2001:1 on the 22nd of December 2003. The certification comprises that the Company Management System for working environment has been assessed and found to be in accordance with the requirements of Systematic Work Environment Management according to the Swedish Work Environment Authority. The Port of Sodertalje is the first port in Sweden and one of few companies in Sweden to have been awarded this certificate. The Port of Sodertalje was already in December 2002 awarded certificates according to ISO 14 000:1, 1996 and ISO 9001:1996. As a consequence the Port of Sodertalje now has a complete certified Management System for Systematic Work Environment Management, Environmental Management and Quality Management. South harbour Quays Three quays with RoRo-ramps, waterdepth 7,9 - 9,8 meters Passengerterminal 1 300m2 Equipment One mobile crane equipped with an automatic container spreader, lifting capacity 47 tons at 25 meters outreach. About 20 trucks and tugmasters, capacity 3 - 45 tons, containertrucks and reachstacker equipped with automatic container spreaders/combined spreader for trailers. Warehouses about 20.000 m2 (thereof heated storage about 5.000 m2) Storage area outdoors about 200.000 m2 Handling RoRo and LoLo Factory New cars and other RoRo handling, containers, wood products and general cargo. Railconnection Railway tracks within the port with connection to the main rail-line. Port of Sodertalje, the first port in Scandinavia to use an IT-solution for increased security Cap Gemini Ernst & Young Sweden AB (CGE&Y) has signed an agreement with the Port of Sodertalje regarding support in adapting to the new security requirements on international ports according to the new ISPS- Code that will come into force July 1st 2004. This is the first project in Scandinavia where a database will be used as an element and support for a ports analysis. Apart from increased security, the Port of Sodertalje is also counting on that the project will lead to lower investment costs.
