From the very beginning it has been the policy of the partners to remain flexible in our approach to business, putting clients' requirements first and foremost. Our success has proved this strategy to be correct in the past and the present partnership will ensure it remains so in the future. Wolfgang Stichling set up his own adjusting practice in Hamburg in September 1975 after successfully working for more than ten years for a respected firm of Average Adjusters. In January 1979 he was joined by Juergen Hahn, an ex Master Mariner, who had previously been working with a well known firm of Average Adjusters in Hamburg. Wolfgang Hilbrich joined the team in August 1980, also an ex Master Mariner who gained his experience whilst working for Insurance Brokers in Hamburg. In April 1982 they merged with the adjusting practice of Werner Schult and Guenter Held, a firm of Average Adjusters founded in 1904, to form a new partnership called Stichling Held Hahn. The partnership agreed to set up its first overseas office in Limassol, Cyprus, which was operational as of April 1983. In order to meet growing demand, the London office, managed by Robin Aggersbury, was opened in July 1990. The company changed its name to Stichling Hahn Hilbrich, reflecting the change in partnership structure. Stichling Hahn Hilbrich Financial Services Ltd. was established as a subsidiary of the group's Limassol operation, to provide competitive financial and accounting services. Having both been employed with the company for more than ten years, Michael Steemers and Burkhard Fischer were announced as Shareholders and Directors of Stichling Hahn Hilbrich (Average Adjusters) Ltd., Limassol. Stichling Hahn Hilbrich Technical Services Ltd. was established as a subsidiary of the group's Limassol operation, managed by Robert Hodgson, a Chartered Marine Engineer.
