Port Information: Odessa port lies on the N of the Black Sea about 150 km NE of the Ukrainian-Romanian border. The port specializes in commodities like steel products, general cargo, grains, cotton and chemicals. Ice may appear at Odessa port late Dec until Feb/March and it may be necessary to use icebreakers for about 30 days of this time period. Usually, though the port is ice -free since winters are mostly mild. Winds blow mostly from the N. Odessa port view Available facilities/services: Pilotage : Compulsory. For vessels with LOA less than 100 m it is up to master's discretion Towage : The number of tugs for mooring/unmooring berth, when required, is determined by the Master according to the pilot’s advice.
