Karmsund Maritime Services AS was originally established as Kopervik Slip AS in 1929 and is today one of the oldest existing shipyards in the region. The yard has from the beginning been engaged in general ship repair, maintenance and total delivery of new building for the north sea fleet of ship. From January 1st 1999, after a restructuring of ownership and with a new generation in charge, the yard change name to Karmsund Maritime Services AS. The Summer 2000 the new building department moved from Kopervik to the new yard facilities at Kolsto, Karmoy next to Karmsund Fiskerihavn. The yards total service and activities are now joined at one place. The yard has from the beginning been engaged in general ship repair, maintenance and total delivery of new building for the north sea fleet of ship. Karmsund Maritime Service AS
