The company was established in the Spring of 1971 to act as ship agent and stevedore in all Dominican ports including Santo Domingo, Rio Haina, BocaChica, Barahona, Cabo Rojo, San Pedro de Macoris, La Romana, Azua, Samana, Puerto Plata, Manzanillo and Punta Palenque. The head office is located near the port of Haina in the city of Santo Domingo and branch offices are maintained at all other ports connected by private VHF radio communication among each other. The same VHF radio can be used to communicate with ships offshore. The principal partners and Board of Directors are: Karsten H. Windeler - President Gustavo J. Tavares K. - Vice President Juan T. Tavares K. - Vice President The Staff consist of 281 persons attending to all aspects of a ship agency and stevedore. Approximately 1500 ships are attendend to annually. We are the Dominican member of the worldwide Multiport Ship Agencies Network and a broker member of the Baltic & International Maritime Council (BIMCO). We are also correspondents for SKULD Gensidig P&I club. We have been accredited under UNE-EN-ISO 9002:1994 by SGS-ICS Iberica, S.A. of Spain, for our ship agency, cargo handling and warehousing activities in the Dominican Republic. The company represents a number of regular general cargo and container liner services connecting the Dominican Republic with Europe, South and North America, Central America and the Caribbean.
