History of North Star Ship Chandler Inc. North Star Ship Chandler Inc. founded by Mr. Igor Fokeeff, has its origins in 1963, first as a registered company, then a Canadian Chartered Company in January of 1976. Starting with its first client, the Murmansk Shipping Company, the company has supplied foreign flagged vessels in Eastern Canada, the St. Lawrence River and Seaway System area ports since that time During the 1990's, North Star ventured into new areas -"J/V Aurores Boreales" was incorporated. A project on the feasibility of computerization of several departments in the Baltic Shipping Company was started. A grant was received from the Provincial government for that purpose. "JV North Star Ship Chandler" was registered in Moscow, and a small office maintained. With the changes that occurred during that decade, "J/V Aurores Boreales" was closed, as was our Moscow office. The computer project was also ended due to the economic climate. We are however still partners in a firm in St. Petersburg. North Star Ship Chandler Inc. once again concentrated on traditional business, slowly expanding the ship supply service area of our business into new markets. North Star Ship Chandler Inc. continues to offer its expertise and expanded service to owners, managers and vessels. Long term members of the Quebec Chambre de Commerce, major partners in the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal, North Star Ship Chandler Inc. also belongs to the International Ship Suppliers Association (ISSA) and the Canadian Ship Suppliers Association (CSSA).
