Founded in 1902 as a shipyard Merwede has developed over the years into a multi disciplinary company consisting of five divisions, dedicated to new building of ships, exclusive interior building, marine repair work, the manufacturing of non-standard industrial valves and marine and mechanical engineering. The new building yard is the largest of the divisions but each one is a recognised leader in its particular field. The company has been a member of the IHC Caland Group since 1993. Mission Statement Merwede's mission is to be a leading company in its historically grown fields of business and maintain a long-term commitment to its global clientele by providing engineered-to-order products of up-market quality and making profit through value added business to secure the continuity of each unit separately and the Merwede company as a whole.
