Singapore Technologies Marine Ltd (ST Marine) is one of Asia's premiere medium sized shipbuilding and repair yard. We are a company of Singapore Technologies. The company was incorporated on 7 May 1968 as Singapore Shipbuilding & Engineering (Private) Limited. We were the first shipbuilder and repairer awarded the ISO 9001 Certification, by Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance (UK) Ltd., (LRQA), in 1991, outside Western Europe. We specialise in various engineering works in both military and commercial sectors. Our core business activities are: Shipbuilding, Ship repairing and Marine and Land-based Engineering. In the latter part of 1996, ST Marine diversified into land-based engineering by establishing a wholly owned subsidiary, STSE Engineering Services Pte Ltd whose main function is to act as a main contractor, developer and subcontractor of engineering work and provide turnkey engineering solutions to support land-based engineering works. To support our core business, we have developed and refined core competencies which are: Project Management (Shipbuilding & Shiprepairs), System Integration, Specialised Ship Design & Production Design, Light Weight Design and Thin Gauge Construction, Specialised Maintenance & Repairs and Technical Management Services. Our experience in shipbuilding lies in offering first class project management, design (we have our own in-house design team, supported by the latest in CAD/CAM technology), building, maintenance and repair. In commercial shipbuilding, we have designed, built and delivered: Feeder Container Vessels Some of the owners are, Klaus Oldendorff of Germany (9 multi-purpose vessels), Neptune Orient Lines of Singapore ( 3 feeder container vessels), Hellenic Lines of Greece (3 feeder container vessels) and Regional Container Lines of Thailand (4 feeder container vessels). RoRo Vessels Tropical Shipping of USA (2 roro/lolo), with 4 more RoRo vessels currently under construction for a Singapore owner. LPG Vessels Kosan Tankers A/S (2 vessels) High Speed Catamaran Ferry Dong Guan City Humen Hongkong and Macau Ferry Co ST Marine has, in addition, designed and built Offshore Supply vessels, Mini Bulk Carriers and Fuel Oil Tankers for a variety of owners.
