Ship Repair and Conversion General Irving Shipbuilding Inc. offers four ship repair and conversion facilities. Halifax Shipyard Dartmouth Marine Slips Shelburne Ship Repair Steel & Engine Products Irving Shipbuilding Inc.'s managers, engineers and craftsmen are fully experienced in repair, conversion and refits for a wide range of commercial and naval vessels. Capabilities include: Survey and maintenance to class Steel fabrication Main machinery overhaul Sub-system removal, repair and replacement Exterior surface preparation and coating Docks and wharfs are fully serviced with steam, shore power, fresh water, high pressure air and telephone services. Sewage, waste and dirty ballast removal, tank cleaning and residue removal services are available. Combined Repair Facilities Accommodation of vessels up to Panamax size. Lifting capabilities are 36000 tonnes and in various conditions of heel and trim Floating dry docks up to 100,000 DWT Graving dock 173m long X 23m wide with 7.6m over the blocks for up to 25,000 tonnes Berthing over 488m up to 9.1 rn draft Marine Railways 17.2m X 112.3m capable of hauling vessels up to 4000 t 17.2m X 112.3m capable of hauling vessels up to 3000 t 18.5m X 115.4m capable of hauling vessels up to 3000 t Assembly Halls Machine Shops Pipe Shops Plate Shops Paint & Blast Facilities Electrical Shops Foundry Facility Hull Repairs Irving Shipbuilding Inc. offers repair work in most types of steel.
