Wan Hai Lines (S) Pte Ltd Under the capable stewardship of the Singapore government and the vision of PSA, Singapore has undergone a metamorphosis - from a young developing port in the early 1970s to the top container port of choice of today. Wan Hai Lines is proud to have been a joint-partner in the growth of the Port of Singapore. The history of Wan Hai Lines parallels that of the port of Singapore. We were established as Wan Hai Steamship Co, Inc. in Feb 1965 and operated a log carrier between Japan and America. Our inroad into containerisation began in June 1976, when our first container vessel, M.V. Chang Chun was deployed on the Taiwan/Japan Service. In June 1989, we started the Singapore-Malaysia service. This marked the birth of Wan Hai Lines' Singapore office in 1992. Throughout this entire period right up to today, we were blessed with a superb working relationship with PSA at all levels. PSA officers are flexible and cordial - from management to marketing, operations and even subsidiaries like PSA Marine and Portnet.com. Each work in tandem in seeking solutions to issues that many arise from time to time.
