1950: Maersk Sealand started serving Iran. Maersk Sealand s vessels originally started serving the port of Khorramshahr. 1955: The first agency agreement was made with Delta Company. 18th March 1992: Iran Danish (Shipping) Company (IDSC), a private joint stock company was registered in Iran. 1st January 1993: IDSC took over all agency functions for Maersk Sealand. IDSC has it s head office in Tehran and a branch office in the port of Bandar Abbas. A.P.Moller s Tankers and Bulk Vessels call on regular basis at various Iranian ports. Maersk Contractors, currently has two jack-up drilling platforms working in the Persian Gulf for Iranian parties (IDSC is not involved in these activities). Both Tehran and Bandar Abbas are connected to the Global Network, with systems handled locally in Iran. As of August 2002, IDSC became the agent for Maersk Logistics in Iran as well.
