Jebsen Management AS The headquarters of the Jebsens group, the commercial shipping activities carried out in the Bergen office are ship operations, logistics and customer relations in the North Sea. The North Sea activities are mainly built on long term contract of affreightments with a few customers. The administration services in the office consists of accounting, finance, strategic planning and marketing for its worldwide affiliates. Today, Jebsens has a global network of offices and representatives in fifteen countries with an integrated transport service portfolio from ship owning, shipping, technical and ship management, crewing and training, to storage and distribution providing clients with a total transport and logistics solutions package.The Company s legacy is its adherence to the principles and ideals that wrought its existence. From a fledgling company, it has become one of the most respected shipping companies. The Company s tradition of excellence and integrity has run continuously through generations aided by some of the best management talents worldwide. Jebsens was first organized under the banner AS Kristian Jebsens Rederi (KJR) in Bergen, 1929. Operations began with its first two 2,500 dwt newbuildings. KJR grew steadily through the 1930s, emerging from the Second World War as a small shipping company with majority interest in small bulk carriers and medium-sized tankers. In the 1950s, KJR expanded its fleet with 15,000 to 22,000 tonners, the handy-size bulk carriers of that time. Overview Complementing our expertise in the sea transport of various bulk commodities, the company provides complete third-party logistical services specializing in road, rail and sea-based transport solutions. Our main areas of service include; Multi-mode transportation Supply chain management Bagging plant operation Warehousing distribution Integrated logistics Inventory/Stockpile management Dangerous goods storage Hazard/Risk management To create extra value to our customers, above services can be backed up by logistical support services such as; invoicing, administration, customer service, carrier management, distribution, bagging and marketing-- all customized to suit customer requirements. Our logistics operations are primarily active in Australia with various customers being serviced in inter-modal transport, bagging, distribution, warehousing inclusive of support services. Multi-mode Transportation Unitizing commodities in containers is an efficient instrument for inter-modal shipments. Increased flexibility is achieved in this operation as transport could either be a single mode or a combination of road, rail and sea transport. Door to door convenience from point of origin to the customer makes an effective delivery of goods all billed in a single invoice. Trucking Operations Either short distance or intrastate movements, should road transport be necessary, a variety of trucks each suited or matched to a task could be dispatched to bring the goods to the destination. Correct driving hours is implemented in accordance with local safety regulations. Bagging Plant With import of bulk commodities at major ports, the convenience of having close to port contract packing, storage and dispatch minimizes cost and time in making deliveries to customers. Blending of commodities prior to packing of the goods is also a cost saving operation that we provide. Integrated Logistics As a client-driven company, we provide total logistics solution to our customers delivering the right quantity of the right product, on time and in optimum condition with an accurately presented invoice. We undertake part or all of the logistical requirements and support services needed by our customers and can provide a single invoice for all the transactions. Dangerous Goods Storage To properly store dangerous goods, we minimize the risks involved in storing it. Product classified as dangerous goods should be kept in a segregated, safe and secure warehouse facility with personnel having knowledge of all known safety standards and local regulations in the proper handling and care for the cargo. When the current Chairman, Atle Jebsen, became President of the company in 1967, KJR sold its tankers. From then on, the business focused on operating bulk carriers through long-lasting contracts of affreightment. Overview Our company has evolved into a complete ship management service provider, offering technical management, crew management, dry-docking services, supervision and consulting for conversions and repairs, new-building supervision, safety and quality assurance inspections and other services to international ship owners in Europe, Asia and the Americas. We adhere to an unequivocal commitment to quality thus maintaining our objective to ensure the smooth and safe sailing operations of our managed fleet, resulting in increased efficiency and minimum off-hire period. We continuously make strategic investments and integrate international standards to our business processes, consequently improving the operations of the vessels we manage. With the utilization of the AMOS Program a computer-based system for maintenance planning and reporting, and stock control and purchasing the Ship Management offices have established a Planned Maintenance System (PMS) for each managed vessel. This ensures the regular monitoring of the ship's performance, as well as control over the owners interests and funds. International IMO Conventions such as SOLAS, MARPOL and STCW 78, as amended, have been incorporated in the company s Safety Management Systems. We have likewise implemented Quality & Safety Management measures according to ISO Standards and the ISM Code, as certified by the American Bureau of Shipping, with its Quality Assurance System (QA System) implemented at all levels of the offshore and onshore organization. With over 70 years of experience in owning and operating various types of ships bulk carriers, chemical tankers, passenger vessels, containers, multi-purpose vessels, and more we understand what our customers want and deliver quality service to owners each time. Our team offers the highest level of ship management services, emphasizing safety, environmental protection and shipboard maintenance at competitive and cost-effective rates. Ships are provided with full technical support and practical advice from our shore-based management team. They are also provided with the necessary shipboard management systems together with supporting manuals and follow-up routines in accordance with reporting procedures, all of which are part of the company s Quality Assurance System. The section is responsible for ensuring original spares are delivered promptly to the vessels. It employs a centralized and computerized purchasing system, which allows a fast, reliable and cost-effective arrangement and supply of spare parts, stores and consumables. The advent of shipping e-commerce has definitely revolutionized the way we do business today. The backbone of our purchasing workflow is the AMOS for Windows Computerized Planned Maintenance System integrated with the AMOS Express. A maintenance management system for the marine industry, AMOS combines planned maintenance with spare parts control. This application is used for onboard requisition and allows direct data entry by onboard officers, while simultaneously and automatically exporting information to the shore office. Access to e-commerce portals are also available through the AMOS software, giving us all the options to provide quality spares and services to ship owners. ACCOUNTING SECTION In close coordination with fleet managers and superintendents, the Ship Management Accounting Section has dedicated accountants for each vessel owner. The responsibility of the section is to perform an efficient accounting of vessel transactions, monitoring and analyzing accounts attributed to each vessel and owner, and providing clients with timely and accurate reports and statements. The section works closely with vessel superintendents and the Purchasing Section consolidating vessel budgets and forecasts, and ensuring efficient control and management of vessel owners funds and running cost budget. The Accounting Section is geared towards continuously improving its systems and business processes. It aims to provide owners with value-added analyses and information to work together with the Ship Management department as the owners strategic partner in business.
