Maersk Hong Kong Limited, a member of the A.P. Moller - Maersk Group, was established in 1975 to act as general agents for Maersk Line's services, connecting Hong Kong and Macau with all major trade origins and destinations. In 1999 Maersk Line acquired Sea-Land Services Inc., and the company is now marketed under the trade name Maersk Sealand. Maersk Sealand offers the most extensive service network in Hong Kong. As well as sailing to the major ports of the U.S., Europe, South America and Asia, Maersk Sealand vessels call on the bustling harbours of the Mediterranean, the Middle East, the Indian Sub-continent, Africa and Australia. Maersk Sealand also offers services to newly emerging markets as Eastern Europe and Commonwealth of Independent States (C. I. S.). Today, the Maersk Hong Kong Group employs more than 1,500 staff. As general agent for Maersk Sealand, a truly global provider of transportation services, Maersk Hong Kong offers a range of complementary services through its local subsidiaries: Maersk Logistics Hong Kong Limited Maersk Trucking (China) Company Limited Brigantine Services Limited; and, Maersk Broker Asia Limited.
