For containerised cargo, Maersk Logistics handles all LCL (Less Container Load) via Gdynia, and all FCL (Full Container Load) via 3 main ports (Rotterdam, Gdynia and Hamburg). Following are the forwarding services provided in Poland: Freight forwarding Arranging the transportation on behalf of a client, specifically including the ocean portion, for small LCL (less than container load), or FCL (full container load) shipments. NVO/Groupage The process of combining multiple LCL/CFS shipments into full containers to obtain the best ocean rate to a specific hub/port and pro-rating the bills of lading. Import handling Complete Import handling of FCL and LCL Export handling Complete Export handling of FCL and LCL Rate and contract negotiations Negotiate rates and contracts Fumigation Fumigation of wooden pallets/crates for extermination of vermin. Co-loading Consolidation activity to maximise equipment and/or space utilisation. Consolidation Consolidation of cargo from multiple vendors/shippers into one consignment. Domestic consolidation Consolidation of goods from one or more consignments to specific domestic destinations. Floor checks The act of checking cargo on the floor of the warehouse. Carton inspection The physical inspection and verification of the condition and number of cartons received. Sortation / Sorting Physically separating goods in accordance with a predetermined plan. Quality control The physical inspection of cargo to ensure that the quality of goods meet the predefined standards. Pick & Pack The picking of individual goods from stock and re-packing these as per specific packing lists. Palletising The placing of goods on pallets. Shrink wrapping Application of a protective synthetic plastic wrapping material to unitise slip sheeted and/or palletised loads, improving handling and protecting the goods from shifting during transit. Bar code labelling Printing and application of bar code labels.
