Main Activity: Ship management Other Activities: Technical Management Crewing Marine Consultancy New Building Supervision Commercial Operations Insurance and Claims Management Unicom Management Services (Cyprus) Ltd was incorporated on the 24th of January 1991 in Limassol, Cyprus. Unicom has been ISO 9002 accredited since 1994, fully complaint with ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:1996 standards in addition to the ISM Code. Our company has voluntarily implemented the "US maritime compliance program" and the environmentally recognized Green Award. The services we provide include full management, i.e. technical, operational (pre- and post-fixture), crewing, accounting, claims, project and newbuilding supervision. We have vast experience in shipyards stretching from Japan, Korea, Russia and Croatia. The vessel types currently under management include tanker ships (chemicals, crude and products), multi-purpose cargo ships, timber carriers, container ships, bulk carriers, RO-RO and the passenger vessel "Maxim Gorkiy" which operates on a worldwide cruise itinerary. Unicom employs over 4 000 Russian and Ukraine seafarers for its managed fleet. Our crewing offices (in St. Petersburg, Novorossiysk, Odessa, Vladivostok and Riga) are fully accredited under ISO Standards and managed by ex Unicom Seafarers. To ensure the highest professional standards are maintained on board, the training of officers and crew is continually under review. Unicom has recently diversified into the third party management sector of the ship management business. After over ten successful years as sole managers for JSC Sovcomflot this is a major step forward, which is already paying dividends in both third party crew and technical management. Unicom continues to expand and diversify the services provided to the customer both with existing and new third party business. The ongoing new-building program, which is being supervised under our management has been extended until 2006 with the building of two ice-class tankers for the Sakhalin -1 project .The experience of our site teams for other Owners business is currently being actively pursued. The increased development of the LNG market has generated much interest within the industry and as prudent ship managers we are actively training shore and seagoing personnel to meet the expected owners requirements in the near future. The company offers full shipmanagement and crewing services for various types of vessels including tankers, chemical carriers, dry cargo and passenger ships as well as special purpose vessels. As of November 2003, Unicom provides technical management and crewing services for 82 vessels of 4 250 k. t. total deadweight , including 24 third-parties ships of 750 k. t. deadweight. Maintaining your ship to meet international safety and operational regulations is essential and reviewing safety onboard of your ship is a key service we provide. Teamwork within Unicom is as important as between our principals and ourselves and we believe ship-based visits improve ship-to-shore relationships and working systems. Our safety audit team will stay onboard to help build safety and operational awareness.
