East Port Said port project A new container terminal complex is now being developed at Port Said East at the Northern entrance to the Suez Canal. A state of the art facility will soon emerge as a transshipment centre for the Eastern Mediterranean. Suez Canal Container Terminal (SCCT) is a private joint venture company which has obtained the concession to build, operate, and manage this new terminal. An industrial area is being developed to the South of the Port Area, which will encom- pass both heavy industry as well as export related industries.
