The Group started its activities as Shipping Agents in August 1986, under the name and style of MODEST SHIPPING AGENCY. The main objectives of the agency was to provide services required by the Offshore Construction Companies working in the Bombay High Area for ONGC. The Agency handled Inward / Outward clearances of vessels at Mumbai Port, and handling of crew transfers, for all their Marine Equipment, i.e. OSV's, Tugs, Work and Accomodation Barges and Drilling Rigs. In October 1996, we started a new company in the name and style of Modest Maritime Services Pvt. Ltd. having its office at 24, "K" Building, 1st Floor, Walchand Hirachand Marg, Mumbai - 400 001 with the intention of exclusively handling all agency related jobs, and spread our network to other ports also. We are also acting as agents for sub contractors to Kvaerner Cementation like, Antarah Koh Pte. Ltd, ECON Piling Pte Ltd., and Linden Shipping. We have our office at 701, Angan Apartments, Bharuch, Gujarat. A brief description of the Shipping Services provided by Modest Maritime Services Pvt. Ltd., is mentioned below : 1. Clearance of Offshore vessels in and out of the port. 2. Clearance of personnel to and from offshore vessels / helibase / airport. 3. Clearance of material to and from offshore vessels. 4. Chartering of tugs, barges and offshore vessels. 5. Acting as Protecting Agents of vessels belonging to foreign owners. 6. Handling of cargo vessel with Import / Export cargo. 7. Inward / outward entry with Port/Customs /Immigration. 8. Arrangement of cargo, stevedores, supplies to ship, repairs to ship. 9. Act as Owner's agent or Owner's protecting agent or charterer's agent. 10. Agents for vessels arriving in India for scrapping. This company was incorporated on 13th April 1994. The object of Company is to charter vessel for various Projects on behalf of our various Principals. Taking permission for chatering of Foreign Flag Vessels from respective Government Bodies. Presently we have chartered Vessel for Enron Power Project at Dabhol, Port Project at JNPT and Port Operations at Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar Islands. We have a land available of about 12 acres (48,000 Sq. Mtrs) at Bharuch, Dahej Main Road. The land is about 8 Kms away from Petronet LNG site. The subject land can be utilised for setting up Officer's Camp with all necessary facilities. The company was incorporated on 7th December, 1992 to offer total ship repair services to vessels in the port of Mumbai. We carryout Ship Repair Services handling repairs of all kinds of Main Engines, Generators, and other Deck and Electrical Machinery on board the vessels including steel renewal jobs. We are registered ship repairers for Mumbai Port. We are also ship chandlers at all the major ports in India, supplying all kinds of deck and engine stores. We have a Project Division that undertakes fabrication of all kinds of Industrial Fabricated equipments, i.e. Storage Tanks for petroleum products like Kerosene, Petrol, Diesel, Edible Oils, Piping Jobs, Heaters, Coolers, etc. We have undertaken Fabrication and Erection of Chemical Storage Tanks. In the past we have successfully completed 16 Nos M.S. Tanks and 8 Nos Stainless Steel Storage Tanks ranging from 1000 tons capacity to 10000 Tons capacity for storage of Liquid Cargo with Conical Roof, Flat Bottom design. We have also fabricated external dome type tanks for holding chemicals under pressure. Besides the above we also have good experience with fabrication and erection of Horton Sphere Tanks required for storage of Cryogenic Chemicals such as L.P.G., Butane, etc. We own the following equipment : 1. Hydra Crane of 10 Tons Capacity - Make - ACE 2. 14 Nos Welding Machines 3. 135 Nos Hydraulic Jacks of 12 Tons each for handling erection of conical roof flat bottom storage tanks from 5 mtrs diameter to 80 mtrs diameter. 4. 8 Nos Hydraulic Power Packs with a lifting capacity of 1000 Tons each. 5. 4 Nos De Watering pumps of 100 CBM Per Hour. 6. 1 Nos 350 KVA Portable Diesel Generating Set. 7. 2 Nos 25 KVA Mobile Diesel Generating Sets. 8. 1 Nos 600 KVA Portable Diesel Generator Sets. We also specialise in re-commissioning of old vessels. We have repaired and recommissioned a 15000 DWT Bulk Carrier under Llyods Class, two Supply Vessels both under American Bureau of Shipping Class. All above vessels were scrap vessels, which were laid up for quite a long time. We own Tugs/ Supply Vessels/ and mini cargo vessels and barges, and we offer the same for chartering and lighterage movements.
