Services Arkas Logistics, which was established in 2002 as a member of Arkas Holding, ensures management of the entire supply chain of a product from raw materials to consumption by the end user. Operating out of offices in Kavacik, Istanbul, Arkas Logistics provides services both to exporters by obtaining supplies nationwide and to producers through distributing products consumed in the domestic market. Logistics Services Special Projects Special Projects Sidelifter Sidelifters are used when there is no loading/unloading ramp available. With the aid of attached rapid mobile cranes, sidelifters can lift off or lift on containers weighing up to 33 metric tones in 7-10 minutes, and mean that container handling services can be provided at any point in Turkey. With sidelifters, import and export containers are stored in the customer's premises; the customer's warehousing space is reduced and, in turn, storage costs are lowered. In this way, customer requirements can be met more swiftly. Tipping Chassis Arkas made its initial investment in tipping chassis (or 'dumper' chassis) in 1999. The tipping chassis is used in particular for bulk granule raw materials, which arrive in containers fitted with inner liner bags. With the rotary valve located on the chassis, the cargo can be discharged directly into a factory's silo. Tipping chassis are available to Arkas Logistics customers in Istanbul, Izmir and Gemlik. However, new projects can be evaluated in accordance with requirements. Inner Liner Bag Inner liner bags, which have cargo capacity of up to 25 metric tons, are used in the transportation of granule products. Customers also have the option to order inner liner bags tailor made to accommodate their particular needs. Garment -on- Hanger (GOH) Containers GOH containers make it possible to transport textile products in any standard box container at attractive prices. If required, special systems can also be developed to accommodate the particular requirements of the customers. ISO Tank Containers and Flexitanks The flexitank option is offered in addition to standard ISO tank containers for the shipment of food grade and chemical grade liquids. The special feature of flexitanks is that they allow box containers to be used in the same way as tank containers. With its team of trained drivers and fleet of vehicles, Arkas Logistics offers services to ISO 9002 standards during transportation, including the heating of tank containers by generator. Rail Transportation Intermodal services are developing every day with combined road and rail transportation. Customers are offered rail freight services both ways between Istanbul and Adana on a daily basis.
