We are proud of being able to attend as ship's agent more than 3000 vessels per year in Spain, mainly in the ports of the Gibraltar Strait (Algeciras, Gibraltar and Ceuta). All the services that owners, charterers, managers, etc. may need, such as loading and unloading, supervision, control of containers, customs formalities, crewchanges, bunkers and luboil supplies, embarking and disembarking of provisions and spares, repairs, etc., at anchorage or at berth, are covered by Maritima del Estrecho, 24 hours a day 365 days a year. In order to attend the needs of our clients in respect of the carriage of merchandise, we have our own transport company. We carry out national and international services with a modern fleet of trucks and we have a division specialized in the road transport of project cargoes. Maritima del Estrecho has a wide network of correspondents, which allows us to attend any shipping or logistic needs in the world. In this respect, we have oriented our business clearly towards the development of international trade. Our main objective is to simplify, facilitate and activate all the operations of our customers and for that aim we have a well-experienced human staff in all matters related to customs clearance of goods, for exportation as well as importation, and also transits. Our computer development with more modern means and our connection via EDI with the Customs in those ports where we are established allows us to activate your customs clearances considerably. Maritima del Estrecho presently has more than 20.000 sqm of warehouse capacity. These warehouses are located inside and outside Algeciras Port zones. We have also warehouses in the ports of Gibraltar, Ceuta and Motril. Our warehouses are well fitted with human and material means in order to guarantee the security of your goods during all their stay inside them. Equipped with the most modern mechanical means for the best handling, fire and robbery security controls and most advanced computer systems which assure the strict control of your goods. Our Warehouses are considered as Public Customs Depot, which allows the storing of extracommunity goods under customs control. Willing to offer our clients a full range of services, we have created an area in our company dedicated to purchase-sale bunkers and luboils. Our competitive bunkering department works on behalf of owners, charters, traders and brokers, using as providers independent suppliers of well known reputation in the market who can guarantee the quality of their products. All our bunkering operations are coordinated from our office in Madrid, being at your disposal 24 hours a day 365 days a year. Chartering of vessels is another activity regularly carried out by our company, We have solid customers who entrust us their cargoes and, in some cases, we act as their exclusive charters. We also have a great deal of owners of well known international prestige, who put at our disposal, and therefore at our clients, their vessels. Thanks to our new communication systems, our chartering activities are agile enough for a smooth and efficient connection with owners and charters. Our availability 24 hours a day 365 days a year guarantees that any chartering operation can be done effectively, and also analyze the opportunities shown in the market at anytime. The chartering department enables us to offer "door to door" services fully controlled by our organization and within all the transport phases. In Maritima del Estrecho we handle all kind of cargoes. Inside the port, we have the necessary infrastructure to give our clients the best service. We are equipped with forklifts from 3 to 40 tons capacity, cranes, stowage and unstowage equipments; all the necessary means to carry out our port operations in the most safe and effective manner. Once more Maritima del Estrecho puts at their clients disposal a global solution in order to facilitate their commitments. In order to avoid any unnecessary delays and expenses, our company offers off-port limits services for supplies of spares, stores and provisions, crewchanges, urgent deliveries, etc. Our off-port limits services operate 24 hours a day 365 days a year, and from its start up it holds a record in safety. The meeting point off-port limits (rendez-vous position) is located at 2 miles west of Europa Point. In the ports of Gibraltar Strait we operate our own barges, capable for transportation of crewmembers, spares, provisions, water, luboil, slops, gas-oil and cargoes onto deck to vessels. Maritima del Estrecho supports an infrastructure which enables the organization and coordination of great events, such as the RYDERCUP, for which we attended the vessels which called at Algeciras port as floating hotels: Queen Elizabeth 2, Sea Goddess 2, Funchal and Club Med I.
