Marine Transmissions Twin Disc Marine Transmissions combine helical gearing for quiet operation with hydraulic-controlled and oil-cooled clutches for smooth, fast shifting on all types of vessels, from pleasure craft to continuous workboat duty. Reduction ratios in forward and reverse are identical so you can give full power to both. Available down-angle output allows for near level engine installation. Both remote and direct mounted V-drives are space savers and optional trolling valve assemblies are available. Leading the way in marine gear transmissions is Twin Disc's Marine Control Drive, or MCD. MCD is a variable speed drive available in a range of sizes with power capacity from 160 to 4500 kW (218 to 6035 HP) at 1800 RPM. The system gives an operation advantage for workboats requiring accurate positioning, or a high degree of slow speed maneuverability when the main engine is powering another action. Twin Disc Jet Drives Marine Transmissions Electronic Controls Surface Drives Twin Disc MG-5170 DC The Twin Disc MG-5170 DC Marine transmission is a great addition to the renowned Twin Disc line. At 680 horsepower/1800 RPM, the continuous-duty rated MG-5170 is built for fishboat and workboat duty and offers reduction rations up to 7:1. It's a high capacity, reverse-reduction transmission built to stand up to today's hard working diesel engines. Standard Features: VKE Silicon Input Couplings. SAE '0'/14", SAE '0'/18", SAE '1'/14" input configurations. Strainer/oil filter, oil pressure gauge and connections for customer-provided monitoring devices. The oil level gauge may be field mounted "Port" or "Starboard" side. Uses the latest design features. Compact and durable. Has identical capacity and ratios in forward and reverse.
