Containers and trailers enable modern, customized transportation solutions for companies of all sizes. Herman Andersson Oy has over hundred years' experience as port operator in Oulu, Finland. Stevedoring Our fast and flexible cargo handling suits all types of cargo and vessels measuring up to our customers? requirements. The stuffing and stripping of units at our port is carried out by modern equipment. Continuous training of our personnel maintains the high level of expertise and thus ensures the quality and efficiency of our work. Our wide selection of handling equipment includes for example reach stackers for handling of containers and forklifts of various sizes. Herman Andersson is in close cooperation with The Port of Oulu in developing Oulu to the leading port for forest industry products and unitized cargo on the Gulf of Bothnia. The latest investments are a new Panamax-type crane for container handling and the extension of the main quay by about 80 m giving it a total length of 340 m. The terminal of combined transports is located close to the Oritkari harbour area and the railway connections to the quays are excellent. These factors significantly support the operations at the port. Our forwarding department receives, stores and delivers goods according to customers instructions. The services include also labelling and repacking. Regular traffic to the main ports in Europe opens up the opportunity for efficient foreign deliveries. Sea transport is a safe and environmentally friendly way to deliver. Unitizing of cargo enables customized solutions for companies of all sizes. Terminal Our terminal receives, stores and delivers goods and units that pass through the port. The depot staff checks, stores and repairs containers. The terminal also provides an area for reefer units and IMDG containers. Also a warm warehouse maintained by the Port of Oulu is available for goods sensitive to cold. Ships' Agency The agency department of our company has long traditions and strong experience in the challenging conditions of the northern part of the Gulf of Bothnia. The agency department operates as the representative of the vessels visiting the port and looks after the interests of the owners and time charterers. The agency department provides the services required by the vessels to ensure smooth and quick dispatch.
