Scania Tanzania Limited: Introduction: Scania Tanzania Limited, established in 1973, is the authorised distributor for Scania products in Tanzania, and as such well capable of handling the following tasks in a professional and factory approved manner: Importation and stockholding of Scania heavy duty trucks and busses together with genuine spare parts, Marketing & Selling of Scania products, carrying factory warranty, After Sales service covering the supply of spare parts and providing the full range of maintenance and repair services on all type of Scania products sold on the Tanzania market. Training of mechanics and drivers. At the end of 2002 the company-organization included approximately 70 persons, supporting the customers through three major departments (Vehicle Sales-, Service- and Spare Parts- department). History: Scania s establishment in Tanzania goes back to 1970 when the company delivered the first 200 tipper-trucks for the construction of the Tazara railways. Since then more than 4.500 Scania vehicles have been delivered to Tanzania. The past 30 years have brought the company a lot of experience in production, marketing, maintenance & repair as well as understanding the transporting operations and road conditions. This experience makes Scania Tanzania Limited the best-equipped commercial vehicle distributor in Tanzania. Vehicles Sales Department: Having marketed Scania vehicles for 30 years in Tanzania, such experience enables Scania Tanzania Ltd to offer the most adequate transport solution for each customer s requirements. The Scania range of vehicles encompasses all types of heavy duty trucks and buses exceeding a gross vehicle weight of 16 tonnes i.e. including payload. Scania heavy duty vehicles have proven to be well adapted to the special conditions in Tanzania and has therefore gained popularity to such an extent that the population of Scania vehicles in Tanzania, as mentioned, now exceeds 4.500 units, thus by far the market leader. Currently the 4-series trucks and buses are offered to the Tanzania market. Both the trucks and buses are top of the line products in their segments. Workshop: With specially trained Scania engineers and mechanics working in our well equipped workshop of approx. 2.500 m2 , including 17 work-bays, 24 hours emergency assistance, heavy duty recovery truck, sophisticated frame straightening equipment, up-to date tooling etc., Scania Tanzania Ltd takes pride in providing the customer the best possible service. Spare Parts Department: Our central parts store has a well-composed stock of approx. 10.000 different Scania Genuine Parts, capable of offering you an impressive average of availability reaching approx. 95 % of your immediate requirement. Items which may not be available are ordered from Sweden without charging any extra cost for the air freight. All parts are sold carrying a full year warranty. The Spare Parts department offers Scania Genuine Parts as well as Scania Service Exchange Parts. By choosing Scania Genuine parts the customer is making a firm commitment to security and lower whole-life cost of their Scania vehicle. Scania Service School and Drivers' Training: The Scania Service School located at the Company is providing Scania s mechanics continuously high class education and training. The Service School is responsible for the whole East African region s Scania distributors and dealers. The Scania Service School is also responsible for the education and training of drivers that Scania Tanzania Limited is offering. This service to the customers involves basic technical knowledge about the vehicle, handling the vehicle, safe driving, fuel-economical driving and general driving skills.
