Incorporated by an Act of Parliament that received the Royal Assent in 1874, The Milford Docks Company (MDC) is recognised as being the oldest company in Pembrokeshire. Initially, the aim was to construct Dockland area that would establish Milford Haven as Britain s major West Coast Port. Over the decades however, the company has become much more than this, undergoing numerous developments that have since characterised it as a pivotal force within both local and international markets. MDC is an independent Company offering a wide variety of services to shipping in and around the beautiful harbour of Milford Haven. With subsidiary operating divisions on both sides of the Haven, the Docks Company are expanding their businesses at a steady rate. Against the backdrop of a great variety of port uses, Milford Haven Ship Repairers has steadily expanded to provide a comprehensive range of marine and engineering services. A highly skilled workforce based at Milford Docks (North Yard) and The Dockyard, Pembroke Dock (South Yard) uses dry dock, jetty facilities, slipways and extensively equipped workshops to meet work schedules and quality standards. As a major West Coast Maritime Service Centre, MHSR have recently hosted the magnificent tall-ship Tenacious- one of the Jubilee Sailing Trust s most recent editions.
