OUR HISTORY Johnson Stevens Agencies Ltd. was formed in 1976 by Derek W. Johnson and Tom Bax-Stevens. Tom Bax-Stevens, however, retired in September 1997 leaving the entire Johnson Stevens Agencies Ltd. group of companies to Derek W. Johnson and the Johnson family. Whilst all shares in the Johnson Stevens Agencies Ltd. group of companies are in the hands of Derek W. Johnson, Michael D. Johnson and David D. Johnson are Directors of the companies and it is envisaged that they will take over the running of the companies and become shareholders in the near future. Johnson Stevens Agencies Ltd. started operations on the 1st July 1976 and handled their first vessel for Trans Freight Lines, Inc. in Felixstowe on the 1st August 1976, and are now considered the leading independent liner agency company representing some 16 shipping lines, with additional lines currently being worked upon, which will further increase their portfolio in the near future. Johnson Stevens Agencies Ltd. are currently in their 26th year of service and are considered masters in handling containerships, break vessels, RO-RO vessels, passenger ferries, bulkers, and all types of vessels. From 1976 rapid growth ensued with expansion in representations, along with expansion in seasoned experienced personnel, and they soon gained a reputation of launching new shipping lines into the UK and Irish theatre, as well as taking over representations which were not being handled to principal's requirements. Without doubt Johnson Stevens Agencies Ltd. now has a reputation of being very professional and aggressive in the marketplace.
