Messrs. Battermann & Tillery GmbH were founded in 1913, originally under the name of Battermann & Nolle, with their head office in Bremen and a branch office in Bremerhaven. In 1927, Mr Rudolf Tillery joined the company as a partner and the company was renamed Battermann & Tillery. As of 1936, Rudolf Tillery continued to run the company as the sole director. In 1952, Rudolf Tillery's son, Helmut Tillery, took over the management and was responsible for expanding the company in Bremen, specialising in surveys of raw products. Since joining the company in 1974, the present owner, Percy Tillery, has continued to expand the company, to the extent that we currently have 18 regional branch offices, located all over Germany. Our surveyors carry out surveys on all sorts of raw products such as cotton, timber, coffee, tobacco, steel, animal feed and fertilisers, as well as surveys of general and consolidated cargo. We also conduct inspections of storage facilities and assess damage caused by major fires as well as damage to all sorts of machinery. In short, Battermann & Tillery hold surveys of all cargoes and commodities sustaining damage during transport by sea, rail, air or road.
