The company better known by its acronym CARENCO, having the deposited Trade Name of CARENCO SURVEYORS, was established in 1972 formally taking over the Ship, Yacht and General Engineering Survey and Consultant Activities of the founder S.Y. Caramondanis, an Acting Surveyor for Lloyds Register of Shipping. Its Lloyd's Register activities were upgraded in 1979 to full non-Exclusive Status offering a wide range of the Society's Services. Carenco now operates throughout Cyprus from its offices in Nicosia, Larnaca and Limassol which are equipped with the latest office technology and CAD facilities. It employs qualified Engineers encompassing Naval Architecture, Marine, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering backed by administrative employees. The resources of the company now offer full non-exclusive services to the leading P&I clubs, financial institutions, insurance houses, the Salvage Association, the International Cargo Gear Bureau, Class NK Nippon Kaiji Kyokai, Registro Italiano Navale (RINA) and Lloyd's Register (LR) as well as the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce.
