Fin-Trans A/S is today a fully owned subsidiary of Franck & Tobiesen A/S, Denmark. The company is responsible for all forwarding activities being handled on behalf of Danish and International customers who require 'the personal touch' of a small, but efficient, organisation. The handling of paper and paper related products from the Finnish paper industry is a major activity dating many years back, when the mother company were appointed agents for the major shipping lines, and Mr. Hans Tobiesen and later Mr. Leif Aandahl were appointed Honorary Consuls to Finland. Franck & Tobiesen represent a number of renowned cargo lines and owners of cruise vessels. 'Our owners' operate Cruise-vessels, Tankers, Bulkers, Ro-Ro Vessels, Rigs as well as the 'Grey Fleets' of the world. All Danish ports are being serviced in port or offshore - professionally and punctually. Our 4 regional offices are located within short reach of any port in Denmark and Southern Sweden. F&T have accumulated a long-standing experience in the crewing business and is acting as agents to one of Poland's most estee med crewing companies, Polaris Maritime Services. All crewmembers hold valid certificates in accordance with the 1978 STCW Convention also comprising the 1995 amendment. The present crewing database lists more than 4,000 seafarers. Their English language skills have been tested by the standard Marlin system (as recommended by shipowners in London). Furthermore they are experienced working in crews of mixed nationality. F&T arrange and assist with all crew changes. Also offered is full administration management for all sailors including handling of payrolls, thereby saving owners the in-house personnel costs. The annual Rechtocup - an indoor soccer event between many Danish companies operating in shipping and associated businesses (bunkers, brokering, port agencies etc) - took place in February 2003, with Franck & Tobiesen's players winning the tournament outright, having won all matches enroute to the final.
