Since establishing in 1962, Wai Gin Ltd. has been a major supplier of marine equipment, diesel engine parts and spares. During its earlier years, Wai Gin Ltd. Provided equipment and parts to the China Ocean Shipping Company for their first ocean going vessel. Since that debut, COSCO has flourished and is now the most important ship owner in China whilst becoming our most significant customer. At the same time, our client base has grown and diversified to include other ship owners, shipping lines, engine builders, ship building and repairing yards, as well as diesel engine power generating plants in the Greater China region. During the 70's, we were appointed to be the sole agent in the region for numerous European marine parts and equipment manufacturers. With their technical and commercial support, we administered technical seminars and exhibitions in China and arranged exchange visits between the makers and customers, thus enhancing knowledge and understanding on both sides. In the last decade, with the foundation of China State Ship Building Corporation, we were actively involved in supplying marine equipment for the building of new vessels. As the economy booms in the southern parts of China, we are also taking every opportunity to supply high quality spare parts to the ever-growing number of diesel engine power generating plants. Moreover, engine builders in China are already using our products as original components.
