Port order 06/97 povides that Masters of tankers calling for discharge of Crude oil cargoes are to advise Port Authorities by telex or fax or thru agents, 48 hours before arrival, a declaration with cargo details and H2S contents, failing which tankers are not authorised to go to berth. Provisions: Are available on the spot, however it is suggested to cable/telex/fax orders when arriving on weekends. Pilotages: Pilot service is compulsory for berthing and unberthing, in case vessl's GT is over 20000, is compulsory also for anchorage. Tugboats: Tugboat(s) assistance for berthing/unberthing is compulsory for tankers over 1600 GT. GAS TANKERS must use tugboat(s) whatever the GT is There are three tugboats by 2400 HP available 24 Hrs a day and 1 by 4000 HP on watch. For vessels over 70000 GT it is strictly recommended to use 4(four) tugs IN and three tugs OUT. C.O.W.: Tankers performing COW are to obtain authorization from R.I.Na. and from Port Chemist.
