AGENCIA MARITIMA ARTIACH ZUAZAGA S.L. has its roots in the Biscay region and has been established in Bilbao since 1973. It was realized that there was a growing demand from foreign ship owners for Spanish seafarers due to their strong sea-going tradition, high standard of qualifications and, in comparison to other European Nations, relatively competitive wages. To date, Amazsa has used its exceptionally good contacts to the Basque/Spanish seafaring community to supply mainly Officers and Chief Engineers to a variety of ship owners and to differing vessel types. As time has passed and the needs of ship owners have changed, we have also established close relationships with the Philippines and the Ukraine in order to source seafarers. Amazsa realized earlier on that Bilbao would experience dramatic economic changes in its port development, traffic and logistics. In 1977 Amazsa started to offer marine surveys and became the P&I representative of the UK P&I Club. Since then Amazsa has attracted other P&I clubs such as North of England, Gard, Skuld, Steamship Mutual, etc. We believe it shows our commitment to the high quality of service we offer to our valid customers. We firmly believe that Amazsa's position in the North of Spain has a solid basis with diversified services within the marine industry striving to meet and surpass the interests of our clients. Today we offer our clients additional services to basic crewing including: Ship Agency, Surveys, P&I Representation, Representative of Regular Lines, Forwarding, Warehousing and Flag Representation.
